Mouthblown glass flower installation

Showcasing and inviting the viewers to consider the environmental pitfalls of the floral industry through the magical interplay of light and form.

Placed inside a mirror-polished steel base, mouth-blown glass flowers contrasted the industrial form of the base highlighting the delicate balance between nature and the commercial world we live in. Thoughtful and provocative, answering the question how art and design can constructively raise awareness and be a valuable contributor towards change.

This installation has many narratives and facets that meander through it but the one that I love most and is the reason this was even birthed into the world; permanence.

Encapsulating a moment in time that has meant something and making that last forever. We receive a lot of flowers throughout our walk of life but they wilt and with that so does the message they carried. With our mouth-blown glass flowers, they hold that story forever.
