Mouth-Blown Glass Sconces - wall relief
Two hand-blown glass plate come together as a single luminous form. Small, hand-worked ornaments trace the surface of the glass plate: coiled ridges, beaded clusters, ribbed spines, each drawn from the grip-motifs found on medieval glass vessels, where texture wasn't decoration but function; a way for the hand to hold what the eye could barely see through.
Reimagined here at architectural scale, those same forms become pure gesture: dimension, shadow, and light caught in mouth-blown glass. Brass fittings hold the two plates in quiet tension, letting warm light spill from within and trace every fold and coil across the wall.
Each piece is mouth-blown by hand at a father-son glasshouse in the Czech Republic.
